Go Out!

Go Out

If you've ever been on a car trip longer than 10 minutes with a child, it's likely that you've heard the question: "Are we there yet?" echoing from the backseat. This seems to be the attitude of the disciples in this passage. They were eager for Jesus to (finally!) establish His earthly kingdom. They believed this to be the end goal, the final destination and the purpose for Jesus' coming. His end goal, however, wasn't an earthly kingdom that would fade; Jesus established an eternal Kingdom. Instead of a final destination, Jesus told the disciples to "Go" and sent them on a journey. His purpose wasn't to preserve one people group, but that "all could come to know Him" as Savior and Lord.
