Prayer as Worship

Teach Us to Pray

“Our Father, who art in Heaven Hallowed be your name…” Last week Merle set the stage for our series on prayer by establishing God as Father. He is intimately close, safe and overflowing with love towards His children. We may come to Him in prayer boldly and freely because of His great sacrifice to be in relationship with us. With that firmly established, Jesus then teaches his disciples (us) to make a declaration of the absolute holiness of God. Hallowed: holy, sacred, set apart; to be treated with reverence. “His Name” comprises the fullness of His nature and attributes. Put simply we are to confess the glories of God our Father in reverence and worship.

From Series: "Teach Us to Pray"

Praying is something almost everyone has done at some point –even if it was no more than a cry for “help!” in a time of crisis. We all want to pray “more” and “better” – very few of us feel like we pray enough or with the power we see in the early church and the first disciples. In the weeks ahead, let’s grow deeper in prayer together!
