The Word Became Flesh

Do you See What I See

At the core, Christmas is about one thing: God coming to earth in the form of a human being named Jesus. The daily life and eternal destiny of every human is determined by their understanding of this truth. Was he simply another prophet or was he truly God? Is he still alive today or is it all just a good story? This Jesus is quite possibly the most misunderstood and controversial person to ever live. Do you see Jesus for who he really is?

Our God doesn’t think the way we think and He doesn’t work in the ways we would – in fact, His thoughts and His ways are WAY beyond and WAY above ours – HE surpasses us in every WAY (Isa. 55:8-9). When we read the familiar story of Jesus’ birth, don’t you wonder why God did things that way? A teenager, pregnant, before she is married – how scandalous, right? Many of us are blessed to have warm memories about the ways that our families have celebrated Christmas. How do you think this story that we celebrate with such joy and hope was experienced by young Mary and Joseph?
